Trump threatened to send troops into a Minneapolis due to the death of a black man

“I can’t just sit there and look at what is happening with the great American city. There is no strong leader. Either this weakling, Mayor Jacob Frey, will pull himself together and pacify the crowd, or I will send the National Guard there, ” the American leader said. He wrote about this on his Twitter.

At the same time, the Governor of Minnesota Tim Wals had already called the National Guard to the city. He noted that he supports peaceful demonstrations, but the destruction caused to the city justifies actions to maintain a safe environment. Soon, protesters set fire to the police station.

Protests in Minneapolis, the largest city in Minnesota, began after the death of black George Floyd. He died on May 25 during an arrest carried out with the use of force. The next day, hundreds of people took to the streets, many of them in masks with the inscription “I can’t breathe” — these are the words the policeman said to the deceased. Peaceful demonstrations turned into riots with arson of buildings, police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets.
