Democrats in the House of Representatives are demanding US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry to submit documents by October 18 to investigate the impeachment of White House head Donald Trump. This is stated in a letter to lawmakers distributed on Thursday to Perry.
“In accordance with the impeachment investigation carried out by the House of Representatives, we hereby oblige you to submit supporting documents by October 18,” the agenda says. “Ignoring or refusing, including at the direction of the president of the White House, will serve as evidence of obstruction of the investigation.”
The White House notified the Democrats that it would not cooperate with them in the framework of impeachment. Thus, all agendas are expected to be ignored.
It was reported that earlier the US and Ukraine were in the focus of media attention after a major scandal broke out in Washington over allegations by an unnamed U.S. intelligence officials that Trump had put pressure on Zelensky during a telephone conversation to encourage Kyiv to help the head of the Washington administration reelect for a second term in 2020. It was reported that the American leader sought from his Ukrainian counterpart an investigation into the actions of Biden’s son in exchange for providing financial and military assistance to Kyiv. The House of Representatives of Congress, controlled by the Democratic Party, announced on the basis of such suspicions that it has launched an impeachment procedure against Republican Trump. Democrat Biden is now Trump's most likely rival in the upcoming US elections next year.
