The UN predicts large-scale hunger after the COVID-19 pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic will cause a humanitarian catastrophe and starvation for many people.

This is evidenced by an analysis of the UN World Food Program (WFP), the WFP Press Center reports.

According to recent estimates, a quarter of a billion people on the planet already this year, 2020, may face severe hunger due to the consequences of COVID19.

“At present, WFP is preliminarily placing a three-month supply of food in the most vulnerable countries,” the report said.

As the Center reported, more than 4.2 million people were infected with COVID-19 in the world, 291 334 people died.
