Missouri filed the first lawsuit against China over coronavirus. The state of Mississippi intends to follow.
Following the state of Missouri, the state of Mississippi will file a lawsuit against China, writes The Hill.
State Attorney General Lynn Fitch said that вЂњtoo many Mississippi residents were affected by silence from China.вЂќ
вЂњWe cannot allow them to act with impunity. The residents of Mississippi deserve justice, and I will seek this in court,вЂќ she added.
The prosecutor also intends to demand damages from China.
Fitch calls on Mississippi representatives in the U.S. Congress to uphold a law recently introduced by Senator Tom Cotton and Congressman Dan Crenshaw, which will allow Americans to sue Beijing to recover damages for losses caused by the coronavirus.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump threatened China with consequences because of COVID-19. Beijing must respond if it deliberately allowed an outbreak of coronavirus, the American president stressed.
