Employees of Monash University (Australia) and the Royal Hospital in Melbourne claim that there is a tool that 99% kills the SARS-CoV-2 virus, provoking COVID-19. This is an antiparasitic drug called ivermectin. Researchers say the drug is able to suppress SARS-CoV-2 in about 2 days. It turned out that to reduce the amount of SARS-CoV-2 RNA by 93%, 1 dose of ivermectin is sufficient. This effect is observed after a day. After another 24 hours, the virus is suppressed by 99%. There were no cases of toxic effects of the drug on the test samples.
According to researchers, their discovery, in the future, will allow the use of a medication as a means of treating people with COVID-19. They believe that ivermectin is able to reduce the activity of SARS-CoV-2. In addition, it will help prevent complications that are often observed in patients, minimizing the risk of transmission of the virus from person to person.
