Actor Jay Benedict died due to complications caused by a coronavirus.

According to the Daily Mail, information about this appeared on the artist’s website. Benedict was 68 years old.

"With deep sorrow, we must announce the death of Jay due to complications caused by COVID-19 infection," the report said.

The actor starred in films such as Star Wars. Episode IV: A New Hope by George Lucas and Aliens by James Cameron, however, passages with him were cut out in both films in wide distribution. Later, his scene in “Aliens” was included in the extended directorial version of the film, the episode with the actor in “Star Wars” was released in a separate collection of deleted frames.

Jay Benedict also played in the films Downton Abbey, Foyle War, The Dark Knight: The Renaissance of a Legend, French Revolution, in the series Jonathan Creek.

As previously reported, the star of the movie "Jaws" Lee Fierro died of a coronavirus.
