Coronavirus spans the USA: The morgues of New Orleans are crowded

In the United States, the morgues of New Orleans (Louisiana) are crowded and no longer accept the bodies of the dead from COVID-19. This was reported on Saturday by CNN, citing the mayor of New Orleans, Latoya Cantrell.

“Morgues are no longer able to pick up and store them, as they are full. I had to ask the federal government to provide additional refrigerators so that we could take care of those who went to God but did not find well-deserved rest,” the mayor said.

US President Donald Trump previously called Louisiana the next potential epicenter of COVID-19 after the states of New York and New Jersey.

According to Cantrell's Twitter post, Louisiana confirmed 12,496 cases of the disease caused by the new coronavirus, and the death of 409 infected. New Orleans recorded 3,966 cases of infection and 153 deaths.

Recall that we wrote earlier that in the United States, prisons will be empty due to the coronavirus. US authorities are trying to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In addition, it is noted that the United States has updated the world record for deaths from coronavirus. According to CNN estimates, over the past day, the number of victims of the disease has increased in the US by 1,423.
