The air in Paris has improved considerably
In the period from March 16 to 20 in the Paris metropolitan area, there is an improvement in air quality due to restrictive measures.
The air quality in Paris and the surrounding regions have become much better and beat the mark recorded 40 years ago, reports Le Parisien.
This is evidenced by the data of the French organization for monitoring air quality Airparif.
It is noted that during the week from March 16 to 20 in the Paris metropolitan area, air quality is observed to improve by 20-30% after reducing nitric oxide emissions by more than 60%, the organization said.
Such indicators are associated with a significant decrease in the movement of certain types of transport after the introduction of restrictive measures.
It is also reported that along the highways, the air quality indicator maybe even better.
“For 40 years of Airparif measurements, these figures have never been so striking at so many stations,” the organization said.
In addition, there is a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the region.
