US stock market recovered after “Black Monday”

US financiers expect stimulus measures from the government, as well as lower Fed rates.

The US stock market recovered after Black Monday on hopes for incentive measures from governments, reports Reuters.

So, the Dow Jones index rose 4.89% to 25.018.16 points, the S&P 500 – 4.94% to 2.882.23 points, and the Nasdaq — 4.95% to 8.344.25 points.

However, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed the session about 15% below the record highs on February 19th.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said he would take “significant steps” to calm market fears by asking Congress for a package of budgetary incentive measures, including a reduction in payroll taxes.

Investors also expect the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates by at least half a percentage point next week.

Recall, on March 3, the Fed at the first emergency meeting since 2008 lowered the rate by half a percentage point to 1-1.25% per annum.
