Blinken confirmed the US readiness to return to negotiations on the Iranian nuclear deal
An agreement to return to negotiations on the Iranian nuclear deal in Vienna has not yet been reached due to Tehran's position. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a press conference following the session of the UN General Assembly. His speech was broadcast on the department's website.
"We still do not have an agreement from Iran to return to the negotiations in Vienna. We are ready to return to Vienna to continue negotiations, but the question is when and whether Iran is ready to do the same," Blinken said.
The head of the US foreign Ministry confirmed that Washington is ready for "meaningful diplomacy" on the nuclear deal with Iran, despite the position of Tehran.
Earlier, the United States called on Iran to complete work on the resumption of the nuclear deal. On August 5, Iranian President Raisi said that Tehran is ready to agree to any diplomatic plans if they lead to the lifting of US sanctions.
