High-ranking CIA official found to have symptoms of «Havana syndrome»

A member of the team of U.S. CIA director Bill Burns complained during a trip to India of an ailment resembling the so-called "Havana syndrome". This was reported by CNN, citing informed sources.

According to the channel, the CIA sees the incident as a message to Burns, showing that no one is safe from the "Havana syndrome".

Journalists note that American authorities are extremely concerned about what happened — in order to plan the attack, they needed to know the schedule of the head of the intelligence agency, which few people know.

Earlier, "Havana syndrome" was found in US diplomats in Germany.

"Havana syndrome" has been repeatedly observed in employees of American embassies. They complained of dizziness, head noises, vibration, nausea, and problems with vision and cognitive function.

At the end of 2020, the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine published a report stating that targeted radiofrequency exposure was the cause of health problems among U.S. diplomats.
