The Olympic champion accused the FBI of ignoring her complaints about the violence of the team doctor
Four-time Olympic champion in gymnastics, American Simone Biles criticized the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in connection with the case of a pedophile doctor in the US national team, Larry Nassar. This is reported by NBC News.
"I blame not only Larry Nassar for what happened, but also the system that allowed him to commit these atrocities.
I do not want another young gymnast, athlete, or anyone to experience the horror that I and hundreds of other people have experienced, and we are still experiencing it.
We suffered and continue to suffer because the FBI did nothing to protect us. The FBI failed, and we deserve answers.
The gymnast added that if she is wrong, it means that similar cases will be revealed in the future in other Olympic sports.
Recall that Nassar was sentenced to 60 years in prison in July 2017 after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography. On January 24, 2018, Nassar was sentenced to 175 years in Michigan State prison after pleading guilty to seven counts of sexual abuse of minors. On February 5, 2018, he was sentenced to an additional 125 years in prison after pleading guilty to three more counts of sexual assault.
