Biden plans to get a booster shot from COVID-19
US President Joe Biden will receive a "booster" vaccination against coronavirus as soon as it becomes widely available. This was stated by the official representative of the White House, Jen Psaki, the briefing was broadcast on Twitter.
Earlier, in an interview with ABC, Biden announced his readiness to get vaccinated together with his wife Jill. The President noted that he and his wife received the first two doses of the vaccine in January 2021 and, according to the rules in force in the United States, they will be able to receive the third dose in September.
Meanwhile, earlier, US health officials called on the White House to suspend the revaccination of the population from coronavirus due to insufficient data. Officials urged waiting for “full approval” of booster doses from the FDA and recommendations from the CDC.
On September 8, the Biden administration announced that Americans will be able to get booster vaccinations against Covid-19 starting on September 20, subject to obtaining permission from the US Food and Drug Administration and signing the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. People will be eligible for revaccination eight months after the second vaccination with Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, CNN reports.
