After the announcement of the new government of Afghanistan, the terrorist movement "Taliban" revealed the identity of its leader. They will remain Haibatullah Akhundzada, Tolo News TV channel reports.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid confirmed that Akhundzada will retain the role of the group's leader. At the same time, Akhundzada was not included in the interim government of Afghanistan.
Akhundzada promised that the members of the government "will work diligently to comply with Islamic rules and Sharia laws, protect the highest interests of the country, protect the borders of Afghanistan and ensure strong peace, prosperity, and development." The Taliban will also take measures "to protect human rights, the rights of minorities and the rights of disadvantaged groups within the framework of the requirements of the holy religion of Islam."
Earlier, on September 7, Mujahid announced the composition of the new government of Afghanistan. The acting Prime Minister will be Mohammad Hassan Akhund. His first deputy will be the head of the political office of the Taliban, Abdul-Ghani Baradar, and his second deputy will be Abdul вЂ” Salam Hanafi.
Mujahid stressed that the composition of the government announced by him has temporary status. All members of the Cabinet are actually acting in their posts. The Taliban invited representatives from Russia, Turkey, China, Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar to the solemn ceremony. At the same time, Ankara did not confirm the fact of receiving an invitation from the militants.
