Revenue of large US companies exceeded the level before the pandemic

According to the results of the 2nd quarter, more than 75% of American companies recorded revenue growth to a volume exceeding the pre-pandemic level. Among the companies included in the S&P 500 index, 213 reported revenue, which was more than the indicator for the same quarter of 2019.

However, the 101st company has not yet managed to reach this level. The best quarterly results were demonstrated by American companies engaged in the production of microchips, as well as operating in the retail and pharmaceutical sectors.

At the same time, the revenue of companies in the service sector remains significantly lower than the indicator that was observed before the crisis. The greatest damage was caused to hotels, travel companies, cruise operators, as well as airlines.

Despite the fact that the situation in the US energy sector has significantly improved, the revenue of oil and gas companies remains below the pre-pandemic indicator.
