U.S. military base was shelled on the border of Iraq and Kuwait

A U.S. military base located on the border of Iraq and Kuwait was subjected to a missile attack, the portal SHAFAQ News reported on August 27.

Three rockets were fired from Iraqi territory into the facility. Their target was the Jirishan checkpoint, located 50 kilometers from the city of Basra.

Two rockets landed near the base and another one flew over and exploded in Kuwait. There were no reports of casualties or destruction.

Earlier, on July 30, in the city of Bayji in Salah ad-Din province in northern Iraq, a plant of an oil company was hit by rocket fire.
