Brazilian President urged every citizen to buy a rifle
Opponents of the free sale of weapons in Brazil should stop making claims against buyers of gun stores. This was stated by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, his words are transmitted by Reuters.
The politician spoke at a meeting with his followers near the official presidential residence. He spoke out against the condemnation of the part of the population that owns weapons and called on every citizen of the country to buy a rifle.
The agency notes that Bolsonaro had previously attempted to change Brazil's legislation so that more residents could buy guns.
On August 18, a Brazilian parliamentary commission accused Bolsonaro of using false data in statements about coronavirus deaths in the country. Alexandre Marques, a member of the Brazilian Chamber of Accounts, confessed to having participated in the creation of a false document, based on which the president claimed in June that the number of coronavirus deaths by governors and local authorities was exaggerated.
