The Taliban denied the information about the meeting with the head of the CIA

A representative of the “Taliban” Zabihullah Mujahid said that the leader of the political wing of the movement, Abdul Ghani Baradar, did not meet with CIA Director William Burns. This is reported by the Afghan TV channel “1 Ti-vi”.

The denial was made at a press conference in Kabul.

Information about the secret meeting was published by The Washington Post. The article claims that Burns discussed with the Taliban the approach of August 31 — before this date, the American side should withdraw all troops from Afghanistan and finish the evacuation of citizens. The CIA declined to comment.

Mujahid also announced that after August 31, evacuation from the Afghan capital will be banned.

The Taliban announced the complete capture of Afghanistan on August 15. After that, a mass exodus of refugees and the evacuation of Western diplomatic missions and company employees began from the country. The representative of the Taliban, Suhail Shaheen, announced that the Americans must take out people and equipment by August 31, otherwise, the Taliban will regard the presence of Americans as an occupation.
