Richard Kemp, a British army colonel who commanded an infantry battalion during the Afghan campaign, called for US President Joe Biden to be court-martialed. The veteran said this on Fox News.
“The world has become much more dangerous. Joe Biden has humiliated the United States, he has humiliated the U.S. military. People are talking about impeachment now, I don't think so. He [Biden] is the commander-in-chief of the U.S. military and he simply surrendered to the Taliban. He should not be impeached, he should be court-martialed,” Kemp said.
The colonel also expressed his confidence that after the withdrawal of the United States and NATO, Russia and China would take over control of Afghanistan. In addition, in his opinion, Biden “single-handedly destroyed the whole credibility of NATO.
Earlier, Biden was criticized by British parliamentarians. The American leader was accused of deceit when he said that from his point of view, the fall of Kabul was “highly unlikely.
“The Taliban were able to seize power in Afghanistan within a week. On Sunday, August 8, the first reports of the capture of major provincial capitals began to come in. On August 12, Herat and Kandahar, the country's two largest cities after Kabul, fell. On August 15, terrorists claimed to have captured the capital. President Ashraf Ghani's government fled almost entirely from Afghanistan. The terrorists' success was due to the withdrawal of U.S. support for the Afghan government.
