Off the coast of California, the Grand Princess cruise ship was isolated, on board of which there are about three thousand people.
After reports that the last group of people was evacuated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which was quarantined due to the outbreak of a new coronavirus, information appeared about a new ship that was quarantined.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, off the coast of California, because of the coronavirus, the Grand Princess cruise ship was isolated, on board of which there are about three thousand people.
The liner was cruising from San Francisco to Hawaii and was due to finish the voyage on Saturday. However, the team received an order to urgently return to the port of departure. The reason is that two former passengers who were on the ship from February 11 to 21 during a cruise to Mexico were found to have a coronavirus infection.
One of the infected, a 71-year-old resident of the suburb of Sacramento, died. Now there are 62 passengers on board, who were also on board during the February trip to Mexico. Authorities believe that they could be exposed to the virus and spread the disease to other people. Now 20 people on board have flu symptoms. They plan to deliver tests to the ship to check people who could be in contact with infected people and those who feel unwell.
Recall that on the cruise ship Diamond Princess, which was quarantined in the Japanese port of Yokohama, there were about 3.7 thousand people in early February, at least 700 people were infected, five died.
