The U.S. Tested an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile

Such tests “reassure our nation's allies that our nuclear deterrent is safe, reliable, and effective,” the Pentagon said.

The U.S. tested the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile. The Pentagon announced this on Twitter on Wednesday, August 11.

“Pilots from the 576th Test Squadron worked with our mission partners from Space Delta 30 to conduct a working test launch of the Minuteman III missile,” the report said.

The Pentagon believes that the tests monitor the readiness of such weapons systems and “reassure our nation's allies that our nuclear deterrent is safe, reliable and effective.”

Earlier, the media reported that China was building hundreds of silos for nuclear missiles. A huge site for the construction of missile silos covering 800 square kilometers was discovered in the desert territories of Xinjiang.

The EU also tested a closed-circuit rocket engine for the first time. The closed-circuit liquid-propellant rocket engine reduces the carbon footprint and also reduces launch costs.
