Afghans who worked for the U.S. asked Biden for help

Residents of Afghanistan who worked with US troops stationed on the territory of the state believe that their lives are in danger — the Taliban militants are going to take revenge on them for their cooperation with the American side. This is reported by CNN.

“We are asking President [US Joe] Biden to save us. We helped you — now you help us, " said an Afghan translator who worked with the US army.

According to the Afghans, the Taliban see the further period as a “time of revenge”.

To date, there are about 18 thousand residents of Afghanistan who have cooperated with the United States in the country.

Earlier, the United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the Taliban militants would try to seize power in Afghanistan by force, which could make it a rogue state.

Currently, in Afghanistan, there is a confrontation between government forces and the Taliban militants, who have seized significant territories in rural areas and launched an offensive on major cities.

The escalation is taking place against the background of the withdrawal of the US military contingent from the country. The US administration promises to complete the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan in full coordination with its allies from May 1 until September 11, 2021.
