UK Health Minister Sajid Javid announced on his Twitter page that he had received a positive test result for COVID-19. At the same time, he previously delivered two doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
Javid said that he has passed an express test so far and is waiting for the results of the PCR test. He also noted that he has moderate symptoms of coronavirus due to previous vaccination.
The Minister was vaccinated with two doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine on March 17 and May 16.
According to Reuters, Javid supported the plan of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to lift all restrictions from July 19, despite a new surge in cases caused by the Delta strain.
The UK ranks seventh in the world in terms of the number of deaths from COVID-19. To date, two-thirds of the adult population has been vaccinated in the country.
