Israeli merchant ship attacked in the Indian Ocean
An Israeli merchant ship was hit by an unidentified weapon in the northern Indian Ocean. The attack is reported by Haaretz with reference to the Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen.
According to preliminary data, a fire broke out on the ship after the impact. The incident occurred when the ship was heading to the UAE from the port of Saudi Arabia.
There was no official comment from Israel. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
In June, it became known that the largest warship of the Iranian Navy sank in the Gulf of Oman after it caught fire under unclear circumstances. The entire crew managed to get off the ship unharmed. The ship was on a training mission.
