The American leader also decided to send federal assistance to local authorities to quickly eliminate the consequences of the incident and rescue the people remaining under the rubble. It is noted that representatives of the US Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Office of Emergency Situations will help local emergency services.
Earlier it became known that Biden forgot about the incident in Florida during his speech to reporters. The country's vice-president Kamala Harris reminded him about the incident, after which the leader apologized.
On June 24, it was reported that dozens of people were trapped under the rubble after the collapse of part of a 12-story apartment building near the city of Miami Beach in Florida. According to local authorities, rescuers managed to find the body of only one person. It is not yet known how many victims are under the rubble.
