The US and Chinese authorities have offered Tehran assistance in combating the spread of a dangerous infection.

Iranian Parliament suspends work due to the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19. This was stated by the representative of the presidium of the legislative body, Asadullah Abbasi, the Iranian state television, and radio corporation reports IRIB on Friday, February 28.

“Due to the spread of coronavirus in the country, the Presidium decided not to hold parliamentary meetings until further notice,” Abbasi said in a statement.





It also became known that China is ready to provide all possible assistance and support to Iran in the fight against coronavirus. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Zhao Lijian.

“The epidemic has no boundaries. Despite the fact that the epidemiological situation in China is still difficult, we are ready in accordance with the need of the Iranian side to provide all possible assistance and support. At present, the Chinese side has already passed the Iranian batch of tests to detect the virus. If the Iranian side will still have a need, we are ready to consider it, “Zhao Lijian said at a briefing.

It also became known that the United States was offering assistance to Iran against the coronavirus. This was announced by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at a hearing in the House of Representatives.

“We offered assistance to the Islamic Republic of Iran,” said Pompeo, and noted that a humanitarian channel has been created jointly with the Swiss authorities, which allows delivering necessary humanitarian goods to Iran.
