Biden lands in Geneva ahead of meeting with Putin

The US President arrived in Switzerland a day earlier than his Russian counterpart — he will spend the night in an elite 5-star hotel

Joe Biden flew to Geneva, where the American-Russian summit will be held with the participation of the American president and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

“Flight No. 1”, as the airliner on which the president moves is called, landed at the Geneva International Airport on June 15.

The delegation that met the White House host included Swiss President Guy Parmelin and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.

The next day, Putin will also arrive in Switzerland on a one-day visit, so the American leader will spend the night at the elite five-star Intercontinental Hotel. On June 16, Biden will meet with Putin for the first time since his January inauguration.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses publish videos of Biden's plane on social networks:

Recall that the meeting of the two presidents will take place at the Villa La Grange — a historical object of the XVIII century, located in the east of Geneva. For the duration of the summit, the airspace over Geneva was closed, and the movement of pedestrians and cars was temporarily blocked.
