A seat on the flight to space with Bezos sold for $28 million

A seat on the flight to space with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos went under the hammer for $28 million. The bidding was conducted by the space organization Blue Origin.

“Sold to the man with the number 107 for $28 million,” the auctioneer announced at the end of the auction.

At this time, it is not specified who will have the chance to fly into orbit with the Amazon founder and his brother. It is expected that the name of the winner of the opportunity to go into space on the New Shepard will be announced in a few weeks.

On top of everything else, plans are underway to name the “fourth and final” member of the space mission.

Prior to that, Blue Origin has launched an online auction for the drawing of one passenger seat on board the reusable suborbital spacecraft New Shepard, whose flight is scheduled for July 20.

Earlier, NASA Director Bill Nelson called the cooperation of Russia and the United States in space unique. He recalled how in 1975, at the height of the Cold War, a U.S. spacecraft met and docked with a Russian spacecraft.
