US President Joe Biden arrived in the UK on Wednesday, where he will meet with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, and attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit in the coming days. The plane of the White House host landed at the Royal Air Force base Mildenhall, located in the English county of Suffolk.
According to the footage shown on British TV channels, Biden was met at the ramp by American servicemen who are serving at the British airbase. The trip to the UK was the first foreign visit by an American president since taking office on January 20.
On June 10, Biden is scheduled to meet with Johnson in Cornwall to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, the fight against climate change, and the protocol on Northern Ireland, concluded by the United Kingdom with the European Union after leaving the union. The main purpose of the visit of the White House host to the country will be participating in the G7 summit (Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, USA, France, Japan), which will be held from June 11 to 13 in the resort town of Carbis Bay on the Atlantic coast of the Cornwall Peninsula.
On June 13, Biden and his wife Jill will be received by Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain at Windsor Castle. Then, as part of the European tour, the American leader will head to Brussels to participate in the NATO summit.
