Trump has requested $2.5 billion to fight against coronavirus

Earlier, the American leader emphasized that the situation with the distribution of COVID-19 in the United States is under control.

US Presidential Administration Donald Trump has asked Congress for an additional $2.5 billion to fight the new coronavirus. This was stated in a statement by the administrative and budgetary administration of the White House, Reuters reported on February 25.

“Today, the administration is sending an additional $2.5 billion funding plan to Congress to accelerate vaccine development, support preparation, and response, and procure the necessary equipment and supplies,” the spokeswoman said.

At the same time, more than a billion dollars are planned to be used to develop the vaccine.

Trump himself said on Twitter that the situation with coronavirus in the United States is under control.

“The coronavirus is under control in the United States. We are in contact with all countries associated with this,” he wrote.

Recall, as of February 24, a virus was detected in 14 visitors to the United States. In addition, 36 Americans from the Diamond Princess cruise ship and three from Wuhan were evacuated to the country already sick and quarantined.

It was previously reported that major US stock indexes fell by more than 3% at the close of trading on Monday. The sharp decline is due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus.
