The number of deaths from COVID-19 in the world is two to three times more than official data

The World Health Organization believes that the victims of the coronavirus could be from 6 to 8 million people

The victims of the COVID-19 pandemic could be from 6 to 8 million, while official data from the World Health Organization indicate only 3.4 million deaths.

This was reported by the WHO Assistant Director-General for Data and Analytics Samira Asthma reports Reuters.

“This number (of deaths) could really be two to three times (the official figures),” she said.

Earlier, the head of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned that the second year of the pandemic will claim even more lives than the first. He called a combination of public health measures and vaccination a way out of the pandemic, which will help save the lives and preserve the livelihoods of millions of people.
