Egypt has started charging for entry into the country
It is noted that all those who come to the Egyptian resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, now have to pay $25 for a visa. The previously introduced promotional period for issuing free visas for tourists has ended in the country, reports by the large news.
Earlier, the Egyptian cabinet approved a proposal to exempt tourists from paying visa fees during the pandemic, in order to increase the demand for travel packages.
This measure was in effect from November 1, 2020, to April 30, 2021. Earlier it was reported that around the popular tourist resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, a 36-kilometer concrete fence wrapped with barbed wire was built. So the authorities of the country plan to protect tourists from Bedouins and terrorists, whose bases are located 360 km to the north.
Against the background of a decrease in the tourist flow, the authorities have been trying to attract travelers in various ways for several years: advertising, discounts on tickets, visa cancellation, and a whole guest channel dedicated to tourism.
