Former U.S. President Barack Obama harshly criticized his successor to the presidency, Donald Trump, in private conversations. He has been implicated in a new book by writer Edward-Isaac Dover, Battle for the Soul: Inside the DemocratsвАЩ Campaigns to Defeat Trump, Fox News reports.
As the author notes, Obama initially favored Trump when he was vying for the Republican nomination in the presidential election with Texas Senator Ted Cruz, but later changed his mind. "I didn't think it was going to be this bad. I didn't think we were going to get this racist, sexist pig," the politician later claimed during a conversation with Democratic campaign contributors.
Trump's conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place without aides present while the investigation into Moscow's meddling in the U.S. election was still ongoing, was particularly displeasing to Obama. Upon learning of this, the politician called his successor in office a "corrupt bastard", Dover writes.
In addition, according to Dover, the current first lady of the United States, wife of President Joe Biden, Jill, was also seen making rude remarks about other politicians. In response to criticism of her husband by Kamala Harris, who accused Biden of racism, she advised her to "go to hell". This, however, did not stop Harris from later becoming vice president after Biden came to power.
Earlier, Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen had implicated him in hating Obama because of the color of his skin. According to Cohen, Trump despises Obama because he is the first black president of the United States.
