The new US administration does not want to quarrel with Germany over the pipeline
The administration of US President Joe Biden intends to abandon sanctions against Nord Stream AG.
This is reported by the portal Axios with reference to two sources.
As noted, Washington decided that the only way to stop the project, which is already 95% ready, is to impose sanctions against German gas recipients, and Biden is not ready to break with Germany on this occasion.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the Russian military buildup on the borders of Ukraine and the Nord Stream 2 poses a threat to the security of Europe.
Recall that until recently, it was written that the United States is still strongly opposed to the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in Europe.
