The White House expects that Biden and Putin may hold a meeting in the near future
The meeting of the President of the United States Joe Biden and Russian Leader Vladimir Putin will take place in the coming weeks.
This was stated during a visit to Iceland by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to the Icelandic portal Frettabladid.
“As you know, there is a proposal for a meeting between Presidents Biden and Putin. We expect this to happen in the coming weeks, “ he said.
However, the Secretary of State did not name a possible meeting place.
Earlier, the Kremlin said that America offers to hold talks in one of the European countries. So far, Austria, Finland, and the Czech Republic have announced their readiness to host the Presidents of the United States and Russia.
Recall that after a recent conversation between the presidents of the two countries, the White House warned that America will continue to exert sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and will not abandon new, tougher sanctions.
