Deval Patrick decided to end his campaign.
Former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick has decided to end his campaign for the 2020 presidential election, US media reported.
It is noted that after the decision of 63-year-old Patrick, not a single African American remained among the candidates for the presidency from the Democratic and Republican Parties of the United States.
According to the results of the primaries in New Hampshire on the eve of the year, Patrick took one of the last places.
Thus, at the moment, eight people are participating in the struggle to become the US presidential candidate from the Democrats — former US vice president Joe Biden, billionaire Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of South Bend Pete Buttijic, congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, Senator Amy Klobuchar, Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and billionaire Thomas Steyer.
The Democratic primary party election stage took place in New Hampshire on Tuesday. Sanders won, followed by Buttijic in second place, followed by Klobuchar. In accordance with the results, each of the candidates will receive a different number of delegates mandates, which will then elect a candidate from the party at the party congress.
Billionaire Blumberg does not participate in the February primaries; instead, he plans to take part in the so-called “Super Tuesday”, when more than 1.3 thousand delegates will be distributed.
Presidential elections will be held in the United States in November 2020.
