Hamas says it launched 130 rockets at Israel

The military wing of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, recognized as a terrorist organization in a number of Western countries, the Al-Qassam Brigade, announced the launch of 130 rockets in the direction of three Israeli cities: Ashkelon, Netivot, and Sderot.

According to the Saut Al-Aqsa radio station, this is how the radicals responded to the death of a number of their commanders (including Bassem Issa, who is responsible for the city of Gaza) and to the destruction of the 16-story Burj al-Shuruk building in the center of the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli shelling.

Earlier, Hamas claimed responsibility for the rocket attack on the Israeli Dimon, near which the country's nuclear center is located. According to the Ministry of Health of Gaza, as a result of the ongoing Israeli strikes on the sector since Monday, May 10, 53 Palestinians were killed, including 14 children and 3 women, and more than 320 people were injured.

On May 10, Palestinian groups launched a massive bombardment of Israel — in total, more than a thousand rockets were fired at the country. In response, the Israeli army called up five thousand reservists and conducted operation “Guardians of the Wall”. In total, 500 targets were hit in Gaza.

Rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward Israel amid escalating tensions and violence near the border and in East Jerusalem after an Israeli court ordered the eviction of several Palestinian families from their homes in Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
