The G7 countries call on the Belarusian authorities to hold new presidential elections under international supervision and release all people who, in their opinion, are unfairly imprisoned, according to the final communique of the "seven", adopted at the meeting of the foreign ministers of the association states in London.
We call on the regime to hold new, free and fair elections under international supervision. We are committed to supporting the democratic aspirations of the Belarusian people and bringing to justice those involved in human rights violations, " the document says.
In addition, the G7 countries called for an end to the ongoing "suppression of human rights and fundamental freedoms".
Recall that the President of Belarus does not agree with this assessment of the situation in the republic. A Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said today that European parliamentarians are silencing the topic of the attempted coup in Belarus. 3 of the 7 EU countries-Germany, France, and Italy-are members of the G7 group.
Earlier it was reported that the foreign ministers of the G7 countries called for stable and predictable relations with the Russian Federation. At the same time, it is emphasized that these countries intend to continue to strengthen their collective capabilities in the face of Russia's actions that allegedly threaten the existing world order.
