French Foreign Ministry Secretary of State Clement Bon said that the EU summit at the end of May will consider possible measures against Russia.
"Russia's reaction (to the EU sanctions) was disproportionate, it made a number of expulsions and took measures against EU officials," Bohn said.
According to him, France "intends to adhere to a firm line at the EU summit, which will be attended by French President Emmanuel Macron and at which all possible options for action will be considered."
Earlier, the head of the European Union's diplomacy, Josep Borrel, discussed relations with Russia with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers ' meeting. During the conversation, the alleged "build-up of Russian military power" in Crimea and on the border with Ukraine and "Russia's actions against EU member states and sanctions against EU citizens" were discussed.
The day before, Blinken said that US President Joseph Biden at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin wants to discuss the normalization of Russian-American relations.
