Iran says it is preparing to ease sanctions

During the meeting of the delegations of the international “five” with representatives of the United States, the mood for the restoration of the nuclear deal was confirmed.

During a regular meeting in Vienna of the participants of the Joint Commission on the Iran Nuclear Deal, an agreement was reached on easing sanctions. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araghchi.

“Individual and sectoral sanctions, such as those on the energy sector, finance, and banking, should be lifted on the basis of the agreements reached so far,” Araghchi said, adding that negotiations on this issue are continuing.

It is noted that today the delegations of the Joint Commission of Iran and the international “five” (Russia, Great Britain, Germany, China, and France) summed up the interim results of the next round of consultations in Vienna, noting steady progress. The next meeting will be held on May 7.

“During the meeting of the delegations of the international "five" with representatives of the United States, the unconditional attitude to the restoration of the nuclear deal was confirmed. Iran did not participate in the meeting with the United States, because its representatives are still not ready for direct contact with the American side,” the report says.

Recall that in April, Iran received the first batch of uranium enriched to 60%. At the same time, it was stated that Iran is already capable of producing uranium of any level of enrichment.

As you know, uranium enriched by more than 20% is considered weapons-grade.
