Rudy Giuliani: raid former Trump lawyer's home

Clouds are gathering over Trump's lawyer — investigators seized phones and computers in the case of lobbying for Trump's interests in Ukraine

As part of the Ukraine-related investigation, US law enforcement officers raided the former personal lawyer of former US President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani.

This is reported by the New York Times.

On the morning of April 28, investigators went to Giuliani's New York apartment and office, seizing his cell phones and computers.

This information was confirmed by Giuliani's lawyer, Robert Costello. He considers the searches illegal, since his client answered all the questions of the prosecutor's office, except for those concerning his confidential contacts with Trump.

“What happened today was real banditry. Why expose someone to this, let alone the Deputy Attorney General and U.S. attorney, the mayor of New York, and the personal lawyer of the 45th President of the United States?” Costello asks.

A lawyer close to Giuliani, Victoria Tensing, was also searched.

It is believed that the searches are related to the investigation around the pressure that Donald Trump exerted on the Ukrainian authorities before the presidential election. According to investigators, in 2019, Giuliani sought to resume the investigation in Ukraine against the son of the current US President Joe Biden, which exceeded his authority.
