Neutralizing antibodies: WHO about Indian strain COVID-19

The Indian strain of the coronavirus contains mutations that make it resistant to antibodies that are produced in patients with the virus. This was reported in the World Health Organization.

“The L452R mutation may affect the effectiveness of some monoclonal antibody treatments, whereas E484Q may lead to antibody neutralization,” the organization said.

It is clarified that the new strain of coronavirus is also spreading faster compared to the variations that were detected in the UK, South Africa, and Brazil.

In India, 17,636,186 people were infected with the coronavirus, of which 197,894 died. In the last 24 hours, 323,023 infections were detected.
