White House announces Biden's trip to Europe

Joe Biden will attend the G7 summit in Cornwall, as well as the NATO and US-EU summits in Brussels.

US President Joe Biden will make his first foreign trip as the country's leader in June. He will visit European countries, according to the White House website on Friday, April 23.

“President Joe Biden will travel to the United Kingdom and Belgium in June 2021. This will be President Biden's first foreign trip, “ the statement said.

So, Biden will attend the G7 summit in Cornwall, Britain, scheduled for June 11-13, as well as the NATO summit on June 14 and the US-EU summit in Brussels.

At the G7 summit, Biden is expected to reaffirm the US commitment to the principles of multilateralism and the values of “major democracies.” Biden is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with G7 leaders, including British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Also, at the NATO summit, the US president will hold separate meetings with the leaders of the alliance countries.

“In Brussels, President Biden will attend the US-EU summit, which will highlight our commitment to a strong transatlantic partnership based on shared interests and values,” the statement said.

The White House noted that the leaders of the states will talk about joint foreign policy issues, global health, ways to stimulate economic recovery, respond to climate change, promote cooperation in trade and IT technologies, and strengthen democracy.

On the eve of the media reported that in June, Joe Biden may visit Eastern Europe. This will be either the capital of Slovakia-Bratislava or a state in the Balkans, the source claimed.
