The Czech Republic has issued an ultimatum to Russia

Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhanek, in a conversation with Russian Ambassador Alexander Zmeevsky, demanded that Russia return all the expelled Czech diplomats by 12: 00 on April 22.

“All expelled employees of the Czech Embassy must be returned to their places in Moscow. We expect a decision by 12.00 on Thursday, “ Kulhanek said.

According to him, if Moscow does not comply with the requirement, then Prague will bring the staff of both embassies into “parity in terms of the number of employees.”

Earlier, the new Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhanek assessed the current situation in Czech-Russian relations during his first press conference in this position. According to him, the Czech-Russian relations have entered an extremely difficult stage. On April 17, the Czech authorities announced their decision to expel 18 Russian diplomats.

According to European media reports, the expelled diplomats were members of Russian intelligence and worked undercover. It was alleged that the Russian special services were allegedly involved in an explosion at an ammunition depot in the Czech Republic, which killed 2 people. In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry declared 20 Czech diplomats persona non grata.
