Biden and Harris spoke with Floyd's brother after the verdict

US President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris spoke by phone with George Floyd's brother after the jury's verdict in the high-profile case. This is reported by the White House.

Details of the conversation are not reported.

Biden also spoke with Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz, the White House said.

As reported, the jury found guilty on all counts of ex-police officer Derek Chauvin, accused of the murder of George Floyd.

Earlier, medical examiner Andrew Baker, who conducted an autopsy on Floyd's body, called the strangulation a consequence of the man's death.

The high-profile trial started on March 8.

Chauvin is charged with manslaughter. If the ex-policeman is found guilty, he can be sentenced to prison for up to 40 years.
