More than 100 people were injured in a train derailment in Egypt, the first details of the tragedy have emerged
In Egypt, in the province of Qalyubiya, north of Cairo, a train derailed. As a result, eight people were killed and 109 were injured.
This is reported by the Al Arabiya TV channel.
The train was traveling from Cairo to the city of Mansoura, located in the Nile Delta, and derailed at 13: 54 local time, about 40 kilometers north of Cairo.
According to the Al-Shuruk newspaper, the reason for the derailment of the passenger train was a significant excess of speed by the driver.

The train was moving at a speed of 120 km / h on the section where repairs are being carried out and the speed of the train should not exceed 30 km / h.
