The State Department changed the rules of interaction with Taiwan

The US State Department has issued new, “more liberal” rules for contacts with representatives of Taiwan, which encourage interaction and reflect the “deepening of informal relations” between Washington and the island.

“The State Department has issued new rules for U.S. government contacts with counterparts in Taiwan to encourage U.S. government engagement with Taiwan, which reflects the deepening of our informal relationship,” the State Department said in a statement.

The head of the press service of the State Department, Ned Price, explained this statement.

“This new guidance makes the rules for dealing with Taiwan more liberal, in line with our informal relations, and also brings clarity within the executive branch of government on how we apply our one—China policy,” Price said.

Earlier it was reported that the aircraft carrier group of the DPRK army conducted exercises near Taiwan.
