It became known about the ties of the leader of the “Islamic State” with the USA

The leader of the terrorist group “Islamic State” Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Quraishi actively cooperated with the United States. These connections became known to The Washington Post.

According to the publication, before his appointment, the militant actively cooperated with the US government, being imprisoned in an Iraqi prison.

According to senior officials, in 2008, a “model prisoner” cooperated with Washington, was “unusually talkative” and shared information about the location of terrorist bases. In addition, the prisoner drew portraits of the leadership of the organization and told them where they prefer to eat.

Al-Quraishi became the leader of the Islamic State in 2019 after the last leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was eliminated by the United States.

From 2006 to 2008, IS (then called ISI — “Islamic State of Iraq”) was based only in Iraq. The group began operations in Syria in 2013.
