A month before the US presidential election, the trial of Trump's business partners, Rudy Giuliani's lawyer Lev Parnassus and Ihor Fruman, who have evidence that the US president put pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, starts on 5 October. A judge in New York said this, the Voice of America reported.
“We are looking forward to our day in court,” Parnassus' lawyer Joseph Bondy said. Lev Parnassus himself added: “People wanted witnesses, but they didn't get them. However, I don't think that's the end of it. I think the truth will come out.”
Earlier Parnassus wanted to get the right to testify in the Senate during the impeachment trial, but most senators voted for the trial without witnesses. Therefore, new evidence of possible pressure by Trump on Ukraine may appear a month before the final vote in the presidential election.
Businessmen of Ukrainian origin Parnassus and Fruman are accused of corruption schemes in the United States, in particular, of violating the rules of financing political campaigns in which they were involved.
We would like to note that the final vote in the Trump impeachment case will take place on 5 February.
