Noah Green, who is believed to have run down two police officers at a checkpoint near the US Capitol in Washington, blamed his troubles on the CIA and the FBI and believed that the authorities were trying to manipulate his mind, CNN reports.
Earlier, local media reported that a 25-year-old resident of Indiana, Noah Green, was suspected of the attack. According to the police, he was a follower of the political and religious movement вЂњNation of IslamвЂќ.
According to CNN, Green graduated in 2019 from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, with a bachelor's degree in finance. In the weeks before the attack, he complained about social media that he had lost his job and was suffering from illnesses.
Less than two hours before the attack, Green posted a number of stories on an Instagram page that CNN claimed belonged to him. In particular, they included links to other videos with the leader of the вЂњNation of IslamвЂќ Louis Farrakhan. One of the videos was captioned as follows: вЂњThe US government is the number one enemy of blacks!вЂќ
In addition, in a post on the social network last week, Green wrote that Farrakhan saved him вЂњafter the terrible hardshipsвЂќ from which he suffered, вЂњ presumably through the fault of the CIA and the FBI, US government departments.вЂќ In a comment below the post, he added that he had suffered вЂњmultiple home break-ins, food poisoning, assaults, unauthorized hospital surgeries, and mind manipulation.вЂќ
Facebook Instagram and Facebook accounts were deleted after the attack.
Earlier, the Capitol police reported that an unknown person hit two police officers with a car at a checkpoint near the US Congress building, they were taken to the hospital, one of them later died. The suspect was killed. Several streets in Washington were closed due to the incident.
